Rail Baltica is a railway infrastructure project with a goal to connect the Baltic States with the European rail network. The large-scale project will integrate modern technologies and solutions, with the aim to create a safe and environmentally friendly, fully electrified high-speed railway system. Five European union countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and indirectly Finland, will contribute to the largest Baltic-region infrastructure project in the last 100 years.
The railway line is planned to span 870 km, starting in Tallinn, and ending in Warsaw. The new 1435 mm railway system integrates the Baltic States to Europe, providing plentiful benefits to all interconnected countries. The new economic corridor will further the development of connected industries, restore infrastructure networks, benefit environmental strategies, and provide better international access for the general public.
Rail Baltic is a significant project on the European scale. The implementation of the Rail Baltica project is financed by the national states — Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania — and co-funding from the European Union up to 85% of the total eligible costs, in particular in the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding instrument. Socio-economic benefits are valued around 16.2 billion euros, which far outweighs the estimated target cost.
RB Rail AS is a multi-national joint venture of the Republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which has been established in 2014 to implement Rail Baltica. In Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia there are also national implementing bodies undertaking their respective national developments.
Brainteam OÜ with close cooperation with Vison OY (Finland) is honoured to be a part of the project and share our collective experiences of integration and Lean. The information exchange will hopefully be used with great results to further the monumentally beneficial railway project.
Brainteam with Vison will provide the project with three training sessions, of which the first one was already organized in May. Representatives from all participating countries have taken part in the sessions.
